Change the world

‘Making your dream a reality’

South Africa’s 10th medical school opened its doors this year at Nelson Mandela University and welcomed its first group of MBChB students in 2021.

Located in the heart of Missionvale, a township in Gqeberha (formerly Port Elizabeth), our medical school follows a strong community based approach aimed at producing doctors who can compete globally but have a deep passion for poverty stricken communities.

Through experiential learning here, our students will come to understand SA’s health-care needs, as Missionvale faces the same triple blight of unemployment, poverty and injustice seen in so many other parts of our country.

Our new medical school indeed provides a great opportunity to deliver on our mandate to be a university in service to society, in solidarity against inequality.

You are invited to attend this MBChB information session.
